Stone fruit trees
Explore our mother plants and varieties, rootstocks and plant types
Stone fruits include species such as peaches, plums, apricots, and nectarines. They are medium-sized, deciduous trees with simple leaves and spring flowers that are generally pink or white. They produce drupes with a hard pit that protects the seed. They prefer temperate climates, require winter chill hours, and need well-drained soil. They are prized for their fleshy, aromatic, and sweet fruit, which is highly valued for eating fresh and in various dishes.

Clonal variety with red leaves. It exhibits uniform growth in the orchard and is compatible with peach, nectarine, and almond varieties (extensively tested with European varieties).
Suitable for replanting conditions, dry, low-fertility, or calcareous soils. It tolerates heavy or waterlogged soils and is moderately resistant to nematodes of the genus Meloidogyne.
Peach seedling soil is the most widely used in Chile for almost all species, except European plum. It is resistant to Meloidogyne spp. and susceptible to Pratylenchus. It adapts well to different soil types, except in waterlogged conditions or during replanting.
It is somewhat tolerant to Agrobacterium and susceptible to Armillaria, Verticillium, and Phytophthora.
Clonal. Compatible with most peach, nectarine, and almond varieties (widely used with European cultivars), and some Japanese plum varieties. Performs very well in replanting conditions, very dry, low-fertility, or calcareous soils (tolerates up to 15% active lime).
Does not tolerate heavy or waterlogged soils. Susceptible to Meloidogyne spp. nematodes and crown gall.
Clonal. Compatible with most peach, nectarine, plum, and apricot varieties. It adapts well to heavy, carbonate, and/or saline soils. Especially suitable for replanting or soil fatigue. It induces rapid entry into production and high productivity.
It is immune to nematodes of the genus Meloidogyne, tolerant to lesion nematodes, and more resistant to Agrobacterium than peach rootstocks. It produces suckers.
Clonal. Compatible with apricots, Japanese plums, and European plums. Resistant to root asphyxiation, with good adaptation to all types of soil. It has low susceptibility to chlorosis, nematodes, and bacteria.
It has remarkable resistance to root rot.
Clonal. Compatible with most peach, nectarine, and plum cultivars.
It adapts well to heavy soils. It tolerates soils with high carbonate content (up to 7.5% active lime). Especially suitable for replanting or soil fatigue in heavy soils. Although it does not have specific resistance to nematodes, it is not particularly affected by them.
It is productive and early-maturing.

Variety developed over a full season on two-year-old rootstock. Plant with a large root mass and reserves. Mostly used for plums, apricots, and almonds.
This variety was developed from a bud grafted in spring onto current-year rootstock. It is a medium-sized plant that thrives in full sun in the nursery, facilitating its establishment in the orchard. It requires more initial attention, especially regarding watering during orchard establishment. It can be used for any stone fruit species.
Grafted variety with two undeveloped buds, on one-year-old rootstock. Plant with a good root system and abundant downy hairs. The graft grows vigorously and well in the orchard, facilitating training. Widely used in peach and nectarine orchards.
Plants in 3-liter containers, grafted at the end of winter and delivered once the variety has grown to between 40 and 60 cm, which is completed between October and early November.
The plants have 100% of their roots and the variety growing in each one, allowing for very uniform gardens.
Good gardens start with uniform plants.
Univiveros® has adopted the North American segregation system.

There are two sources of materials that make up the mother plants suitable for propagation:
• Foreign plants from prestigious repositories or genetic improvement programs, subject to SAG quarantine inspections, and
• Domestic plants obtained from orchards of proven horticultural merit, with mass and sanitary selection over several years.

Traceability in the production process:
In addition to the care taken regarding the sources of our propagation materials, we have a rigorous labeling system for the propagation material that results in coded records of the varietal identity and origin in each of the propagated plants and at all times during the production process.
